About This Tool
Create random passwords with your chosen length and character categories. Every enabled category appears at least once. Adjust the settings to match the website’s password rules and store the result carefully; security also depends on your device and how you use the password.
How to Use It
- Choose a password length from 4–256. The default uses a longer password with all four categories enabled.
- Adjust uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, symbols, and look-alike exclusions as needed.
- Click Generate Password and check that every enabled category is represented.
- Click Copy Password to use it. Clear removes the current output; Reset Defaults restores the settings.
Examples
- Length 16, all four categories: include at least one uppercase letter, lowercase letter, digit, and symbol.
- Length 8, numbers only: generate an eight-digit random password. A smaller character set has a smaller selection space.
- Without repeated characters, the length cannot exceed the number of distinct characters left after filtering.
Settings and Limits
Passwords contain 4–256 characters and use secure randomness. The length must allow every enabled category to appear. With no repeated characters, it cannot exceed the available character count. Longer passwords and larger character sets usually offer more possible combinations, but category and no-repeat requirements affect that number. A theoretical estimate is not a guarantee of real-world security.
Common Uses
- Create a fresh random password for an account.
- Generate temporary passwords that meet character-category requirements.
- Explore how length and character choices affect the selection space.
Privacy
Passwords are generated only in your browser and are not uploaded or automatically saved. Copy the password when you need it and store it securely. This page does not offer password-file downloads.

FAQ
Is this password generator secure?
Generation uses the browser’s cryptographically secure random source and runs locally. Actual security also depends on length, device security, and how the password is stored and used; no tool can guarantee that a password is impossible to crack.
Will my password include every selected character category?
Your password includes at least one character from every enabled category. Choose a length that allows all selected categories and make sure each still has available characters.
How long should a password be?
When the service allows it, a longer random password that is not reused generally offers a larger selection space. The tool uses a longer default, but you still need to meet the service’s requirements.
Are passwords saved automatically?
No. Passwords are shown only on the current page and are not automatically saved or uploaded. They reach your clipboard only when you click Copy, so store them securely yourself.
Does estimated entropy equal actual security?
No. The independent-uniform-choice formula does not fully apply to required categories or no-repeat rules. It is only an upper-bound reference for the selection space.
