Generated results

Generate UUID v4 values in batches of up to 10,000, with uppercase and hyphen options.

UUIDs are generated only in the current browser. They are not uploaded or automatically saved, and downloads are created locally.

About This Tool

Create multiple random identifiers in UUID v4 format for test records or bulk imports. Results appear one per line so you can review, copy, or download the entire list. Choose uppercase or lowercase and whether to include hyphens.

How to Use It

  1. Set the count from 1–10,000. The default is 10.
  2. Choose uppercase or lowercase and whether to include standard hyphens.
  3. Click Generate UUIDs and check the resulting count.
  4. Copy all results or download uuids.txt. The original UUID Generator is also available for smaller tasks.

Examples

  • Standard format: xxxxxxxx-xxxx-4xxx-yxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx, where y is 8, 9, a, or b.
  • Without hyphens, each line contains 32 hexadecimal characters.
  • Count 1000: generate 1000 UUIDs, with scrolling inside the text area.

Settings and Limits

Generate 1–10,000 UUID v4 values per batch using secure browser randomness. Case and hyphens change only the display format. Duplicates are extremely unlikely but not impossible. Keep uniqueness checks wherever your records require a unique identifier.

Common Uses

  • Create random IDs for test records in bulk.
  • Generate a UUID column for imported data.
  • Compare standard and compact UUID representations.

Privacy

UUIDs are generated only in the current browser. They are not uploaded or automatically saved, and downloads are created locally.

If you need to keep the results, copy or download them before leaving the page.

FAQ

What is UUID v4?

It is a random-based UUID version with fixed version and variant bits. Its standard representation contains 36 characters.

Are UUIDs guaranteed to be unique?

No absolute guarantee is possible. With a suitable random source, collisions are extremely unlikely, but applications should still enforce uniqueness as needed.

Can I use UUIDs as database primary keys?

They are one option. Consider your database’s indexing, storage, and sorting needs, and add a unique constraint.

What does the 4 in the middle mean?

The first hexadecimal character in the third group is 4, identifying UUID version 4.

How does this differ from the original UUID Generator?

Both generate UUID v4 values. This page is designed for batches of up to 10,000 and text-list downloads. For a small number of results, you can also use UUID Generator.
