Generation and Code Structures

QR Code Generator

Enter text or a URL, choose the size and error correction level, and generate a downloadable QR code.

Input

Image Preview

Create QR codes for text or URLs locally, customize error correction, colors, and size, and download an actual-size PNG.

QR content is encoded only in your browser. It is not sent to third-party services, and the tool does not automatically visit URLs or save input.

About This Tool

Turn text or a URL into a QR code that reveals the content when scanned. The tool does not open the URL or check whether the website is online. It supports text in many languages and emoji.

How to Use It

  1. Enter text or a full URL. URLs are encoded as text and are not opened automatically.
  2. Choose a size from 128–2048px, an error correction level, a margin, and foreground and background colors.
  3. Click Generate QR Code. If the content exceeds capacity or the modules do not fit, shorten it or increase the size.
  4. Check the preview, click Download PNG, and verify the content with your scanning device.

Examples

  • Hello World: generate a static QR code that decodes to that text.
  • https://example.com/: encode the URL itself without sending a request to the site.
  • Hello, café, 😀: preserve Unicode content with UTF-8.

Formats and Scanning Guidelines

Create QR codes from text and URLs. Error correction levels L, M, Q, and H are available; M is the default. The input limit is 2953 UTF-8 bytes, but actual capacity depends on error correction. Margins are measured in modules; keep a quiet zone of at least 4 modules when possible. The PNG uses your selected pixel dimensions. If the image is too small, increase its dimensions or shorten the content. Low contrast triggers a warning. Verify scanning on your actual devices.

Common Uses

  • Create URL QR codes for documents, labels, or business cards.
  • Encode short text for offline reading.
  • Test error correction levels and print sizes.

Privacy

QR content is encoded only in your browser. It is not sent to third-party services, and the tool does not automatically visit URLs or save input.

If you need to keep the results, copy or download them before leaving the page.

FAQ

What is a QR code?

It is a two-dimensional code that stores information such as text in a pattern of dark and light or colored modules. A reader can recover the content.

Will the QR code expire?

This tool creates static codes that do not expire because of the tool. If a code contains a URL, access to the destination depends on that website.

Is higher error correction always better?

Higher levels tolerate more damage but can require more modules and a larger image for the same content. Choose based on your use case.

Why do margins and colors matter?

Readers need to identify the quiet zone and module edges. Small margins or low contrast can make scanning unreliable.

Is the downloaded PNG a stretched image?

No. The downloaded PNG uses your selected pixel dimensions, with a crisp, centered QR pattern. Test it with a scanner before printing or sharing it.
