About This Tool

Blur Image softens the whole image to create gentle backgrounds or reduce visible detail. It affects the entire picture and does not let you select individual faces or regions.

How to Use

  1. Choose or drop an image and check its orientation, file size, and pixel dimensions.
  2. Set the blur radius, choose the output format, and adjust quality or the background color where available.
  3. Click “Apply changes” to compare the original and result, including actual pixel dimensions and file size.
  4. Download when you are satisfied. “Reset settings” restores the default effect; “Clear” removes the files and results.

Settings explained

  • The blur radius ranges from 0 to 50 pixels and defaults to 0. Larger values blur more detail.
  • The radius uses the original image’s pixels. The same value can look different on images of different sizes.

Supported Formats

  • Input: JPG/JPEG, PNG, or static WebP. GIF, animated PNG, and animated WebP are not supported.
  • Output: JPG, PNG, or WebP if supported by your browser. Most edits keep the input format by default; opacity and rounded-corner tools default to PNG.

Image Processing Notes

Changes apply to the full original image and keep its loaded pixel width and height by default. The preview may appear smaller; the downloaded file contains the full processed image.

  • A radius of 0 adds no blur. Larger radii may take longer to process; wait until processing finishes.
  • The output keeps the original dimensions. Edges are extended as needed to avoid an unnecessary transparent border.
  • Blur does not guarantee that sensitive text or personal information becomes unreadable. Crop out information you need to remove and inspect the result carefully.
  • PNG and WebP support transparency. JPG blends transparent areas with your chosen background color, which is white by default. The preview’s checkerboard is not included in the download.
  • Downloads contain the full processed image. Saving again can change file size and compression details, and usually removes original EXIF, GPS, and similar information. Keep your original file.

FAQ

What is the blur radius?

It describes the pixel range affected by the blur. A larger radius blends colors more and makes details harder to distinguish.

Can blur completely hide private information?

There is no guarantee. Context or analysis may still reveal blurred content. Crop out sensitive information or cover it completely.

Can I recover the original after blurring?

The downloaded blurred image does not retain all original detail. Keep the original file so you can make new adjustments.

Will the download keep the original dimensions?

The tool preserves the loaded image’s pixel dimensions. A smaller preview does not make the download smaller. Output format and quality can still affect file size and detail.
