About This Tool
Generate secure random numbers within your chosen range. Integer mode includes both endpoints and offers a no-repeat option. Decimal mode follows your selected precision: with two decimal places, possible results include values such as 0.01 and 0.02 within the range.
How to Use It
- Enter a minimum and maximum, with the minimum no greater than the maximum.
- Choose integer or decimal mode and set the count. For decimals, also choose the number of decimal places.
- For integers, optionally require unique values. The count cannot exceed the number of integers in the range.
- Click Generate, then copy the results or download random-numbers.txt.
Examples
- Integers 1–100, count 10: get ten integers within the inclusive range.
- Integers 1–10, unique, count 10: get a random permutation of all ten integers.
- Decimals 0–1, precision 4: get values such as 0.4821. The available endpoints follow the precision grid shown on the page.
Settings and Limits
Generate up to 10,000 numbers per batch. Integer endpoints must be between −9007199254740991 and 9007199254740991, with the minimum no greater than the maximum. For unique integers, the count cannot exceed the available values. Decimal mode supports 0–12 places and returns only values within the range at that precision. If the range or precision is too large, reduce it. Exponential notation and unique decimals are not supported.
Common Uses
- Sample from a finite range of IDs.
- Prepare random numeric test data.
- Generate sequences of distinct integers.
Privacy
Numbers are generated only in your browser. Settings and results are not sent to a server or automatically saved.
If you need to keep the results, copy or download them before leaving the page.
FAQ
Are both endpoints included?
Integer mode includes both endpoints. Decimal mode selects only values within the range that fit the chosen precision.
What if I request too many unique values?
The tool shows that the count exceeds the available integers. Reduce the count, widen the range, or turn off the no-repeat option.
Does the tool use secure randomness?
Yes. Numbers are generated using your browser’s secure randomness. Your settings and results are processed only in your browser.
Are decimals infinitely precise?
No. Results have explicit precision and representation limits. This is not an arbitrary-precision continuous random distribution tool.
Can the minimum equal the maximum?
Yes. The tool can generate that value. Unique integer mode allows only one result in this case.
