About This Tool
Prepare SVG illustrations for apps or forms that accept only JPG. Since JPG cannot retain transparency, choose a background color that suits the destination and preview the combined image.
How to Use
- Select an SVG file, or expand “Paste SVG Code” and paste its complete contents.
- Set the export width and height as needed. The original aspect ratio is locked by default; unchanged dimensions use the original image size.
- Choose a background color, which defaults to white, and set JPEG quality, which defaults to 90%.
- Click “Convert to JPG,” check the background and text details, then download.
Supported Formats
- Input: a valid UTF-8 SVG file (.svg) or complete SVG code, up to 2 MiB.
- Output: JPEG (.jpg, image/jpeg), without transparency.
Conversion Details
- JPG fills transparent areas with your chosen color, which defaults to white. Partially transparent edges are blended with that background.
- The SVG’s width and height are used first, followed by its viewBox dimensions. Without either, the default is 512 × 512 pixels. You can adjust these dimensions.
- JPG output is a lossy, pixel-based image without vector properties. Check fine lines, text, and color edges before downloading.
- Scripts do not run, and external images or fonts are not loaded. Common shapes, paths, text, and gradients are supported. Animations, filters, and unsupported content are removed. Embedded images are limited to supported PNG and JPEG images; complex styles may look different.
SVG files and code must use UTF-8 and be no larger than 2 MiB. Exported images are limited to 40 million pixels and 16,384 pixels per side.
Privacy
Images are processed entirely in your browser and are never uploaded to a server.
This tool does not automatically save your selected image or result. Download anything you want to keep before clearing the page or leaving.
FAQ
What happens to transparency when SVG is converted to JPG?
Transparent areas are filled with your chosen background color, which defaults to white. JPG cannot retain a transparency channel.
How do I keep the image proportions?
Leave “Lock Aspect Ratio” enabled. Changing the width or height adjusts the other dimension to preserve the original proportions.
Will SVG to JPG retain vector properties?
No. JPG is a pixel-based image with fixed dimensions. Choose a resolution large enough for your intended use.
Will SVG scripts run or external resources load?
No. Scripts do not run, and external images or fonts are not loaded. Use this page’s preview to check the result.
Why do text or some shapes look different?
The original SVG may depend on external fonts, images, or unsupported effects. Try converting text to outlines in the original design app before converting again.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Selection, preview, conversion, and download all happen in your browser. Your images are never uploaded to a server.
