About This Tool
SVG Preview focuses on how your graphic looks. Check icon edges, text contrast, and transparent areas against different backgrounds, zoom in on details, and save a filtered SVG copy.
How to Use
- Choose an SVG file or paste SVG source.
- Click Preview SVG and read any notices about removed content.
- Choose a transparent, white, black, or custom background and adjust the zoom.
- Check the result and download the filtered SVG if needed.
Features
- A checkerboard indicates transparency. White and black backgrounds help you check light and dark icons.
- Fit the graphic to the window or choose a zoom level. Zooming changes only the view.
- The download is a filtered static copy. Your original input remains in the source area.
Preview backgrounds and downloads
- The preview background helps you inspect the graphic and is not added to the downloaded SVG. To create an actual background, use SVG Background Generator or export to PNG/JPG.
- Removing scripts, animation, or remote fonts may change the appearance. Keep the original file and check your downloaded result.
SVG Safety
Previews use a filtered static copy. Scripts, click events, animations, external images, fonts, and styles do not run or load. External references, embedded web pages, and unsupported content are removed, so the preview may differ from the original. Documents with a DOCTYPE or custom entities are not supported.
SVG files and UTF-8 source are limited to 2 MiB, 20,000 nodes including elements and text, and 96 nesting levels. Simplify files that are too large or complex before trying again.
Privacy
Your SVG stays in your browser and is never uploaded to a server.
Inputs and results are not saved automatically. Download anything you want to keep before clearing the tool or leaving the page, and keep a copy of your original.
FAQ
How does SVG Preview handle unsafe content?
It removes scripts, events, embedded web pages, and external resource references before previewing supported static content. Keep in mind that the original SVG may still contain active content.
Why does the preview look different from the original?
The original may rely on animation, filters, interaction, or external resources that are removed. Unsupported complex styles can also affect the appearance.
Why are external images or fonts missing?
The tool does not load remote SVG resources. External images will be absent, and text may use a font available on your device instead.
Is my SVG uploaded for previewing?
No. File reading, filtering, and previewing all happen in your browser.
