Each image can be up to 100 MiB. Files over 50 MiB trigger a high-memory-use notice. Original and output images are limited to 16 megapixels, with each dimension no greater than 16,384 pixels. Some operations have lower limits; resize the image first if prompted.

About This Tool

Add Rounded Corners gives photos and illustrations a softer outline. All four corners share the same radius. Areas outside the curves become transparent or use a background color in the download.

How to Use

  1. Choose or drop an image and check its orientation, file size, and pixel dimensions.
  2. Set the corner radius, choose the output format, and adjust quality or the background color where available.
  3. Click “Apply changes” to compare the original and result, including actual pixel dimensions and file size.
  4. Download when you are satisfied. “Reset settings” restores the default effect; “Clear” removes the files and results.

Settings explained

  • Corner radius is measured in pixels and defaults to 100. The effective radius cannot exceed half the image’s shorter side.
  • A radius of 0 keeps square corners. PNG/WebP preserve transparency outside the curves; JPG uses the background color.

Supported Formats

  • Input: JPG/JPEG, PNG, or static WebP. GIF, animated PNG, and animated WebP are not supported.
  • Output: JPG, PNG, or WebP if supported by your browser. Most edits keep the input format by default; opacity and rounded-corner tools default to PNG.

Image Processing Notes

Changes apply to the full original image and keep its loaded pixel width and height by default. The preview may appear smaller; the downloaded file contains the full processed image.

  • Rounding removes part of each corner without changing the overall width or height.
  • For small images, an oversized radius is limited to fit the dimensions and keep the corners from overlapping.
  • The checkerboard only indicates transparency and is not included in PNG/WebP downloads.
  • PNG and WebP support transparency. JPG blends transparent areas with your chosen background color, which is white by default. The preview’s checkerboard is not included in the download.
  • Downloads contain the full processed image. Saving again can change file size and compression details, and usually removes original EXIF, GPS, and similar information. Keep your original file.

FAQ

Are the areas outside the rounded corners really transparent?

Yes, in PNG or WebP output. The preview checkerboard simply helps you see those transparent areas.

Why does JPG show white corners?

JPG does not support transparency. The areas outside the rounded corners use your selected background color, which is white by default.

Does rounding change the image dimensions?

No. Width and height remain the same. Only the content and transparency at the corners change.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Image loading, adjustments, previews, and downloads all take place in your current browser. Images are not uploaded or sent to an online image processing service.
