About This Tool

Add Text Watermark lets you put a signature, copyright notice, or other text on an image. Choose its position and style; the watermark becomes part of the downloaded image.

How to Use

  1. Choose the main image and enter your text in “Watermark text.”
  2. Set the font, size, color, opacity, position, margin, and angle.
  3. Click “Add text watermark.” Check that all the text is visible and that its position and size look right.
  4. Download the image when you are satisfied. The original file is not overwritten.

Settings explained

  • The watermark must be a single line of up to 500 characters. Some emoji count as more than one character.
  • Font size ranges from 1 to 1,000 pixels, with a default of 80 pixels. Choose a system, serif, or monospace font in regular or bold weight.
  • Choose from seven positions and adjust opacity, margin, and rotation from −180° to 180°. Margins use the original image’s pixels.

Supported Formats

  • Input: JPG/JPEG, PNG, or static WebP. GIF, animated PNG, and animated WebP are not supported.
  • Output: JPG, PNG, or WebP if supported by your browser. Most edits keep the input format by default; opacity and rounded-corner tools default to PNG.

Image Processing Notes

Changes apply to the full original image and keep its loaded pixel width and height by default. The preview may appear smaller; the downloaded file contains the full processed image.

  • Text size is based on the full original image and scales with the preview. For example, 80-pixel text appears about 20 pixels tall in a preview shown at 25%.
  • Available characters and emoji depend on your device’s fonts. If a character does not display, try a different font or text.
  • Long text, large fonts, or rotation may place the watermark outside the image. Check its position and edges in the preview.
  • Your input is displayed as text. Special symbols and angle brackets appear as characters in the watermark.
  • PNG and WebP support transparency. JPG blends transparent areas with your chosen background color, which is white by default. The preview’s checkerboard is not included in the download.
  • Downloads contain the full processed image. Saving again can change file size and compression details, and usually removes original EXIF, GPS, and similar information. Keep your original file.

FAQ

Is the watermark uploaded to a server?

No. Both the image and watermark text are processed locally and are not sent to a server.

Can I use special characters or emoji?

You can use characters supported by your device’s fonts. Font and emoji appearance may differ across devices.

Does the watermark become part of the image?

Yes. It is saved in the downloaded image and remains visible after you leave this page.

Is font size based on the preview or the original?

It is measured in original image pixels. The preview scales down proportionally, while the download uses the font size you specified.
