Each image can be up to 100 MiB. Files over 50 MiB trigger a high-memory-use notice. Original and output images are limited to 16 megapixels, with each dimension no greater than 16,384 pixels. Some operations have lower limits; resize the image first if prompted. The watermark image is limited to 8 megapixels. Avoid choosing two very large images at once.

About This Tool

Add Image Watermark places a logo or another image over your main image. Both files are opened locally in your browser. A transparent PNG logo can keep its transparency.

How to Use

  1. Choose the main image, then select a JPG, PNG, or static WebP watermark image.
  2. Set watermark width as a percentage of the main image, then adjust opacity, position, and margin.
  3. Click “Add image watermark.” Check the logo’s proportions, transparency, and position near the edges.
  4. Download the combined image when you are satisfied. The original image and watermark files are not overwritten.

Settings explained

  • Watermark width ranges from 1% to 100% of the main image’s width, with a default of 20%. Height automatically follows the watermark’s original proportions.
  • Watermark opacity defaults to 50%. Choose from seven positions and set the margin in pixels.

Supported Formats

  • Input: JPG/JPEG, PNG, or static WebP. GIF, animated PNG, and animated WebP are not supported.
  • Output: JPG, PNG, or WebP if supported by your browser. Most edits keep the input format by default; opacity and rounded-corner tools default to PNG.

Image Processing Notes

Changes apply to the full original image and keep its loaded pixel width and height by default. The preview may appear smaller; the downloaded file contains the full processed image.

  • For a main image 1,000 pixels wide, a 20% watermark is 200 pixels wide. Its height follows its original proportions.
  • The logo’s existing transparency combines with your opacity setting. A transparent background does not turn black.
  • A large watermark or margin may extend beyond the main image. Check that the result is complete and looks as expected.
  • Apply again after changing the main image, watermark, or settings. If processing fails, the previous result is no longer available for download.
  • PNG and WebP support transparency. JPG blends transparent areas with your chosen background color, which is white by default. The preview’s checkerboard is not included in the download.
  • Downloads contain the full processed image. Saving again can change file size and compression details, and usually removes original EXIF, GPS, and similar information. Keep your original file.

FAQ

Can I use a transparent PNG logo?

Yes. Transparent and semitransparent areas are preserved. PNG and WebP logos usually work well for watermarks that need transparent backgrounds.

How is logo size calculated?

Its width is a percentage of the main image’s width, while height keeps the original proportions. For a main image 1,000 pixels wide, 20% gives a watermark 200 pixels wide.

Is watermark transparency preserved?

Yes. Existing transparency combines with your opacity setting. For example, setting a semitransparent watermark to 50% makes it more transparent.

Are the main image and logo sent to a server?

No. Both images are opened, combined, and prepared for download locally in your current browser.
