Text Files

Text File Merger

Join text files in your chosen order, set separators and line endings, and download one combined file.

All files are processed only in your browser and are never uploaded to a server.

About this tool

Combine the text from multiple files in order, useful for collecting notes, logs, and other text. JSON, XML, and CSV are also joined as plain text; the result is not guaranteed to preserve their structure.

How to use

  1. Select or drag in multiple text files.
  2. Use Move up, Move down, and Remove to arrange the merge order.
  3. Choose the text encoding, separator, output line endings, and filename.
  4. Review the preview and download the merged UTF-8 text.

Features

  • Supports decodable text in TXT, MD, CSV, LOG, JSON, XML, and other files.
  • Move files up or down and remove files you do not need.
  • Choose no separator, a line break, a blank line, or a custom separator.
  • Choose automatic BOM/UTF-8 detection, UTF-8, UTF-16LE, or UTF-16BE, with LF or CRLF output.

Encoding and merging

  • Automatic mode recognizes a BOM and otherwise tries UTF-8. It cannot reliably identify every legacy encoding. If text looks wrong or decoding fails, select the correct encoding manually.
  • Output is UTF-8 text with your selected line ending rule. Contents are not executed as HTML.
  • JSON, XML, and CSV structures are not automatically merged or validated. Check the results separately if you need valid structured output.

Limits

  • Select up to 200 files with a combined input size of 50 MiB. A memory notice appears for inputs over 10 MiB.
  • UTF-8 output is limited to 100 MiB. The preview shows only part of large results; downloads contain the full output.

Privacy

All files are processed only in your browser and are never uploaded to a server.

File names, entered text, and results are processed only in your current browser. Your input is not saved automatically. Download any results you want to keep before clearing the tool or leaving the page.

FAQ

Which text files can I merge?

You can merge TXT, Markdown, logs, and other text saved in a supported encoding. Binary files are not suitable for text merging.

Will merged JSON always be valid JSON?

No. This tool joins text in order. It does not merge objects or arrays or automatically build a valid JSON structure.

Will merged CSV always be valid?

No. Headers, column counts, quotes, or line breaks may need separate handling. This tool does not align fields or remove duplicate headers automatically.

Which text encodings are supported?

Automatic BOM/UTF-8 detection, UTF-8, UTF-16LE, and UTF-16BE are supported. You can also select Shift-JIS when your browser supports it. Automatic mode cannot identify every encoding.

Can I change the file order?

Yes. After selecting files, use Move up, Move down, or Remove. The files are merged in the displayed order.
